In 1969, Led Zeppelin received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.  They lost to Crosby, Stills, and Nash.

Since then, the Grammy have given Led Zeppelin a Lifetime Achievement Award and several of their albums have been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

But, the band has never won an actual Grammy award.

Now, they've finally received their second and third nominations.

Celebration Day, the band's live album released in November of 2012, was nominated for Best Rock Album.  Their performance of Kashmir from that album received a nomination for Best Rock Performance.

The other nominees for Best Rock Album include: Black Sabbath's 13, David Bowie's The Next Day, Kings of Leon's Mechanical Bull, Queens of the Stone Age's ...Like Clockwork, and Neil Young with Crazy Horse's Psychedelic Pill.

Other nominees for Best Rock Performance are: Alabama Shakes' Always Alright, David Bowie's The Stars (Are Out Tonight), Imagine Dragons' Radioactive, Queens of the Stone Age's My God is the Sun, and Jack White's I'm Shakin'.
