Gregg Allman says the Allman Brothers Band will stop touring at the end of 2014.
Allman broke the news to Relix Magazine. He says, "This is it—this is the end of it. 45 years is enough and I want to do something else, anyway. Everyone has their own real good perspective bands."
He does leave the door open for reunions. "We may get together every five years and just do one play at a time."
Earlier in the year, guitarists Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks announced that they were leaving the band at the end of 2014 to focus on other projects.
Gregg Allman, along with his late brother Duane, formed the Allman Brothers Band in 1969 with Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Jaimoe Johanson, and Butch Trucks. Gregg, Johanson, and Butch still perform with the band.
